Phantom Canyon portrait photos of Karly

We met Karly while doing a engagement session with previous clients Josh & Denae. Karly came to help watch their little boy while we did some photos. Karly was then part of their wedding and we all instantly hit it off. Karly herself has since been a client and used us for numerous sessions.

We were so stoked when she reached out and wanted to do something for herself this year after seeing a few photos I took in Phantom Canyon, between Pueblo and Canyon City.

When I asked Karly why she wanted to do a session she had this to say:

“Sometimes a photo shoot doesn’t need a special meaning or reason or rhyme. That literally you have to dance alone in the rain sometimes. From me struggling with my depression day in and day out, it’s so hard to be happy sometimes and to be in this funk and scary time, fear consumes the mind and takes over. This makes me feel alive and better and truly brings happiness that I can still be a light to shine during these times. You have to learn how to dance in the storm and be happy and smile and embrace the beautiful world around us. This helped me feel confident and I took a step out of my comfort zone with both outfits and really just felt good for once. ”

Wow, if that does not give you a reason to feel something, I don’t know what will. This was a the most perfect response I could have asked for. Sometimes we need to do something for us. In this case, Karly wanted a photoshoot. We picked two locations she really wanted to photograph in and two outfits she really wanted to showcase.

Karly, I are so honored to be able to do this session with you. It was wonderful hanging out and you truly are an amazing woman. I am so glad we are able to create something beautiful for you and hope you enjoy all the photos.
