Pueblo Colorado First snow of 2023
Blog Post by Josh Lepik:
The first day of snow for 2023 was upon us. We knew it was coming because the weather man said so. Some parts of the state saw 6-10 inches. Sadly, we did not see anything close to this. Mostly a dusting across the area. It was great though. A brisk 28 degrees outside, we grabbed some coffee and headed out around 9am. Out location of choice today was Pueblo City Park and the Arkansas River.
We had actually shot at these places yesterday for families but yesterday looked entirely different. The area was filled with yellow leaves, and blue skies. Today, snow was everywhere and the entire sky was filled with clouds. As the day progressed the snow started to fall pretty heavily. It was a great day to experience the first snow and the photos do not do it all justice.
I particularly love the snow on the cactus. Cactus is associated with hot climates and the fact that the cactus has snow is a great juxtaposition.
All images from this set were captured on the Leica Q2. This camera has become my favorite camera of all time. The images are beautiful, the files are so nice to work with and the look that comes out of the camera is something we have not been able to replicate from our other cameras. The 47MP files are massive but the detail they provide is unreal. The Leica Q2 is not a cheap camera and the fact it is still over $5k even after the Q3 has been released speaks to how amazing this camera is.
