The Whimsical Siren, photographed by Lepik Photography
Meet Amanda, aka, The Whimsical Siren on Facebook and TikTok. Amanda reached out to us to help bring her beautiful paintings to more people. Amanda has been doing several craft fairs, festivals and events showcasing her pieces and been told countless times she needed to offer her paintings in print form as well. This is where we came in. Amanda had previously tried taking photos with her phone and was not getting the results she had wanted. After talking with one of her good friends Brandi, we were connected with Amanda.
If we are being honest, we have not taken photos like this on a larger scale before. We have had some people reach out asking for us to take a picture of a picture from a family member or something, doing some enhancements and blowing it up but when it comes to photographing paintings there are several things to take into account. You need to get the light and the colors as true to the artists work as possible. Your lines need to be straight to ensure nothing gets distorted and it needs to be a high enough quality that the artist is able to print in various sizes.
We asked Amanda where she finds her inspiration for these paintings. There are moments in life that present themselves to you. The way a tree lights up in the evening, or a neighbor that you love passing but then seeing a specific bird always around. It is the ways the universe tells us that everything is going to be alright. These are the moments that help inspire Amanda for each of her pieces.
Amanda has begun experimenting with mixed media in addition to her paintings to bring to life various art forms, textures, styles into one beautiful final product.
Thank you Amanda for sharing your art world with us. We are so excited to help bring more people the ability to experience your gift and cannot wait to see all the good that comes from you.
