Meet Cheri Marten. Owner of I’ll Drink to that Cakes located in Pueblo West Colorado. We got a chance to meet Cheri through an online business promotion and are honored to share her story.

Can you give us your elevator pitch? 30 seconds to tell us who you are?
I make custom drink cakes. I will use cans and bottles and I put them together to look like cakes. We are classified as a retail liquor store but I do alcohol and non alcohol.

What made you start I’ll Drink to that Cakes?
I taught for 26 years and retired and my husband said I should get a job or hobby. Teachers love booze, decorations and crafts. It all went well together

What typical goes into a cake?
They are officially called drink cakes. We measure everything first and cut the boards to make them stable. Everything is glued onto the board with hot glue so they pop off easily. Then we proceed to the decorations that are tailored to each person. They tell us the main idea/theme for the cakes and to go for it. They let us have most of the creative freedom. I have done over 200 of these so far. Generally I will use 24 of whatever drink the customer likes. I can also mix and match when requested. I can support 12 that are more budget friendly.

What’s next for the company and how can our community support you?
Please come in and purchase one of our cakes and please share our information with your friends and family. We can handle birthday parties, bridal parties, groom/bride cakes for weddings, Father’s Day or really any other event you have happening in your life.
